Following a successful pilot, from 7 April 2008 the CCT Mark Scheme becomes the CESG Claims Tested Mark Scheme, adding it to the portfolio of Information Assurance services provided by CESG.
CESG and the Central Sponsor for Information, a unit within the Cabinet Office, have been working closely over the last few months to ensure a smooth handover, and CSIA will continue to support the CCT Mark Scheme as part of the National Information Assurance Strategy.
Expansion of the scheme through market research and promotional activities has been assigned to Quandrant Consultants Limited, an independent commercial organisation. Quadrant is independently owned and operated and brings considerable resources and expertise as an independent support company to the CCT Mark scheme for CESG.
This work, in an initial twelve month contract, will support CESG as they make their longer term plans for the Mark Scheme.
Quadrant will engage with vendors, test laboratories and the stakeholder communities in the wider public sector and central government, and work under the direction of CESG. They’ll also undertake targeted marketing and promotion activities, market research for CESG to focus the future direction of the Scheme, and day-to-day administration and management activities.
Peter Hooper at CESG will take over as Scheme Senior Executive with effect from 7 April 2008. At Quadrant, the programme director Peter Hayes will be responsible for the development and implementation of a marketing exercise for the scheme over the coming months, and for overseeing the transition of administrative functions from CSIA. A transition programme is now in place, in readiness for continuity through 7 April.
